Domestic Heat Pumps

SDH Building Services supplies and installs domestic heat pumps as an alternative to conventional heating systems or home heating.

Heat pumps are suitable for most housing types

Householders can make real cost savings on their annual utility bills using a domestic heat pump rather than a traditional gas boiler or oil-fired boiler for their home heating.

Heat pumps are already popular in Denmark, Sweden and France, and are expected to become popular in the UK in the near future due to the benefits that they offer householders.

How do heat pumps work?

Heat pumps are capable of meeting exacting industrial heating and cooling
requirements as well as of providing comfortable and efficient indoor heating for all housing types.

Main types of heat pumps

There are three main types of heat pumps known as ground source heat pumps, air source heat pumps or water source heat pumps. All three can be used to heat your home or hot water.

All three use a special fluid that constantly evaporates and condenses in a closed circuit which is controlled by valves and a compressor.

Heat is removed from the air or from water or soil using a heat collection loop and delivered to the heating and hot water systems of the house.
